Lodging in Keystone, Colorado

Keystone is located 75 miles west of Denver, just 5 miles past Dillon, Colorado. In the winter Keystone Resort offers three mountains for skiing: Keystone Mountain, North Peak and The Outback. Most recently the resort added snowcat served bowl skiing for those wanting a wilder, out-of-bounds experience. Renowned for its expertly groomed trails, huge terrain parks, challenging bump runs and gladed trails, Keystone has been a favorite of all ages since 1973. And it has the largest Night Skiing operation in the U.S.

As a full service resort, Keystone offers many other winter and summer activities. Winter activities include ice skating on the largest maintained outdoor rink in the country. You can also try tubing, cross-country skiing and sleigh-ride dinners. Highly rated restaurants such as the Keystone Ranch, Ski Tip Ranch, The Stube and Der Fondue Chessel offer great food, wine and beer. Unique locally owned shops, bars, live bands and festivals keep the resort moving at most hours.

In the summer concerts and weekend festivals bring crowds to the resort. Keystone Mountain is transformed into one of the premier downhill mountain biking destinations in the country. Some biking trails feature 6 to 12 foot drops and the bike parks are intensely challenging. Ride the chairlift or gondola to the top of Keystone Mountain and enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of mountains, ski areas and Lake Dillon.

Bike paths roll throughout the resort along the Snake River and rentals are in both the Keystone and River Run Villages. On Keystone Lake you can try paddleboats and kayaks. Feeding the lunkers in the lake is a favorite activity for younger kids. And fly fishers can hone their skills with clinics.

Like all the World Class resorts in the area, Keystone’s architecture is interesting, the landscaping beautiful, the guest services top-notch. There is a free shuttle service throughout the resort, kids and teen activities, and always holiday themed events. The chocolate village only set-up for viewing at the Christmas holidays is a wonder and an amazing creation.
